Monday's Scratches

The Hurricanes have allowed Jussi Jokinen to head back home to Europe to attend to the passing of his father this week. Jokinen, a Draft pick of Derek's, will be allowed to stay with his family for as long as he needs.

Wanna poke the trade rumours? Darcy Tucker was scratched from the Avalanche line-up on Monday night, as the Avs take on the Islanders tonight. Tucker has been trade bait as an elder statesman on a soon-to-be rebuilding team and a playoff team would like his moxy. Tucker does have another year left on his deal, which does hurt that rumour a little bit.

Already in the middle of several trade rumours, Bill Guerin was sat out of the game tonight against the Avalanche, as the Islanders try to finalize a deal to send him out of Long Island. Guerin, a Draft pick of Dale B.'s, is rather unhappy having to sit while he waits for a deal to happen. As soon as he could get traded, he'll figure back in that team's line-up.
