Well, before my Blue Jackets update, I guess I could tell you about a trade that went down this afternoon. The Flames sent defenseman Anton Stralman, acquired earlier this summer from Toronto, to Columbus for a third round pick next Summer.

This move was a healthy step forward for the Flames, who needed to clear out some players for cap space and the Blue Jackets have some cap space to burn this year. The Flames were likely worried that they would lose Stralman through waivers, so they were proactive in picking up a draft pick for his services.
