Sheet Player News (Dec. 22)

The Blackhawks were able to exercise their right in this roster freeze to send down call-up Jeremy Morin, so he can get some game time action with their AHL affiliate before the Christmas break.  The young forward was able to feature in three NHL games with the Blackhawks before getting sent back down, but failed to register a point, so he is likely better served to be down in the minors for the time being.  Morin wasn't given much for top six minutes, which was likely the cause of his lack of production.

A foot problem was to blame for Box 12 defenseman Stephane Robidas' absence from the Stars line-up on Wednesday night, when the team took on the Philadelphia Flyers and by all accounts, they probably could have used him in the 4-1 loss.  Robidas suffered the injury while blocking a shot in practice and he is considered to be out day-to-day for right now and will be questionable or a game-time decision when the team plays next, Friday at home to the Lightning.

It sounds like the season may be coming to an early finish for Senators forward Peter Regin, who has suffered a major setback to this surgically repaired shoulder, which has kept him out of the bulk of the season to date.  Regin suffered the injury on Tuesday night against the Panthers and now the player and the team are weighing out their options going forward, which does include surgery again.  If surgery is the road that they travel down, the Box 23 forward will be done for the remainder of the season.  For argument's sake, consider him out indefinitely.

A new acquisition, some returning bodies to the line-up meant a bit of a shuffle for the Coyotes and their line-up on Wednesday night, which meant that Box 13 defenseman Michal Rozsival was a healthy scratch for the team, as they took on the Hurricanes in Raleigh.  Rozsival has only played seven games this season, thanks to injuries, so there could also be the sense that he may not quite be 100% and with some fresh faces ready to go, there was no point in pushing him too hard.
