Pearson will miss opening night in San Jose and then Friday night's home opener against Philadelphia, not huge penalty, but for a kid that hasn't had any history of supplemental discipline, it is a good message sent by the league this early in the year.
Last season, Pearson finished 162nd among all forwards with 36 points in 79 games with the Kings and the preseason projections had him in the 40-point range, expecting a slight increase in production, as his years of service go up. The loss of a couple games won't hurt those projections, but it's not fun, if you have him on your team, to miss a couple games kind of sucks.
