Afternoon Player Notes in the Draft (Dec 6)

Another note from Tuesday night's action, as Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Justin Schultz left the game against the New York Rangers in the 2nd period, after suffering a lower-body injury in-game.  Schultz suffered the injury in the 1st, but tried to return in the middle frame, only to be shut down in the end.  He will be reevaluated in the next day or so and we're expecting word on his timetable before Thursday night's game, at home to the Islanders.

Injuries after the Waiver Draft are very frustrating, not that Ryan would have been considering to drop Schultz with so little information to go on, but you really hope that your team can survive a little while without getting too banged up after a player swap.  Ryan's team will open tonight in 17th, 39 points back of the money.
