Goalie Announcements (Dec 22)

The Wilton Watch is officially over, as the Lightning were able to narrowly slide past the Senators with a shootout victory on Thursday night, so all three remaining teams are safe... for now! Next week is a short week, so it will be interesting to see what happens!

So, with that being said, we've got a couple days left before the Christmas break and we'll go over the games that have top 10 (and ties) implications just as something to keep these fingers busy over here.

Brian Elliott (Stacey C.) versus Robin Lehner (Kristy & Don)
The pool's first duo, Kristy & Don, open up Friday night's action in 5th place, 7 points out of the money and their number two goalie, Robin Lehner, gets another shot at a win tonight, something that has been rather difficult for this Sabres team.  Visiting their barn tonight is the Philadelphia Flyers, who open back-to-back nights with this stop and it will be interesting to see if they go with Brian Elliott for both games, not giving much faith to their current backup, Alex Lyon.

Carey Price (Dale C.) versus Mike Smith (Ryan)
The Montreal Canadiens continue their western road swing in Calgary tonight and Carey Price will go for Dale C.'s 9th place team, taking on the Flames in the first of back-to-back games in Alberta before the Christmas break.  Dale's team sits 21 points out of the money and he could desperately use some big points from his 1st round pick this year.  At the other end, the Flames are expected to go with Mike Smith, as they close their pre-Christmas schedule tonight, giving Ryan another start tonight.

Those are the only two games that feature a top 10 team goalie in tonight's action, so it's an easy post today.  Saturday will be much busier, with a butt load of games to play, so it should be a much longer post, one would think.  It's a Festivus miracle!
