Noon Player Notes (Feb 5)

An injury note to watch out for from the Coyotes last night, as defenseman Alex Goligoski left the game against the Dallas Stars with an upper-body injury, not to return.  It was later revealed that he suffered a concussion after taking a hit from Dallas' Brett Ritchie and he has been placed in the league's concussion protocol moving forward.  The Coyotes are in Nashville tonight, playing on back-to-back nights, so it seems rather doubtful that Goligoski will be in the lineup tonight.  He'll be day-to-day for right now, updates will come as they happen.

Not great news for Wes' hockey pool team, which sits in 5th place, 12 points out of the money.  Goligoski has 17 points in 46 games this season, so he hasn't been the most consistent contributor to his success, but he has chipped in some.  This could sting a little bit, if it's a long-term issue.

Also leaving their respective game, not to return last night, Los Angeles' Jeff Carter suffered a lower-body injury in New York.  The Kings are also working on back-to-back nights, playing in New Jersey tonight, where the coaching staff thought Carter would be questionable for the game last night.  He'll be listed as day-to-day for the time being, if he does indeed miss tonight's game with the injury.

Brenda & Seward are hoping to get to a little better spot in the standings before the year is out, the bottom-third isn't an ideal place to finish.  They currently sit in 23rd, 17 points back of 22nd, and are now dealing with another injury.
