Ballard Out With Shoulder Injury

Now, I haven't seen anything terribly specific to this injury, but the Canucks preview for their game against the Hurricanes on Sunday night does say that Keith Ballard is now day-to-day with a shoulder injury.  There were some suggestions out in the blogosphere that Ballard may have suffered a concussion, but that has not been disclosed by the team, avoiding any minimums of time to be missed with any injury.

Ballard has yet to register a point in his first four games with the Canucks and is yet to have a timetable for returning, so he'll be stuck at zero for the time being.

ImplicationsThis is not the kind of news that Wayne wanted to see in the early part of this season, as his team is now dealing with an injury crisis at the moment. Wayne currently sits in 9th spot going into Sunday's action, so he isn't in terrible shape.  Having four players on the injury list won't be much help to him moving up the standings, but he's obviously hoping that his healthy players can pick up the slack.
