Upper-Body Injury Sidelines Whitney

The Coyotes started their North American schedule without one of their key free agent acquisitions from the off-season, Ray Whitney, who has been dealing with an upper-body injury since the team's trip to Europe. Whitney has reportedly not been practicing with the team since their return, but is only listed as being out day-to-day.

Whitney had a reasonable start to the season in Europe, picking up a single assist in the team's first two games of the season against the Bruins. I don't think we should be expecting to see Whitney in tonight's contest against the Ducks.

Implications This is another injury that we are going to have to stack up against Wayne's team, who is also without Keith Ballard for Sunday night's action as well.  Wayne will have one player going for him tonight, but that is a far cry from the three he could have had on the docket for the evening's action.
