As seen in the video clip attached to this link, Mike Cammalleri was caught in a stick-swinging incident with the Islanders' Nino Niederreiter on Saturday night, including a two-handed chop to the leg of the Swiss rookie. This incident has cost Cammalleri the first regular season game, the opener in Toronto on Thursday night due to a suspension. The call came down on Monday afternoon and was announced shortly there after, but the punishment doesn't seem to be too severe for the actions.
The Islanders and Canadiens do play fairly soon in a home and home series at the end of the month and it is expected that Niederreiter will be in the line-up for Long Island, as he's had a pretty good camp and a contract in hand.
This won't have the biggest impact on the pool, missing one game, but it may keep Wes from getting out to a better start on the first night of action in the draft. Again, it's only one game that Cammalleri will be missing, so I don't think we can look at it too seriously.
