The first note about avoiding arbitration dropped on Tuesday morning, as the Arizona Coyotes and forward Mikkel Boedker agreed on a 1-year deal, before the date for the hearing was even set. Boedker's deal is reportedly worth $3.75 million for the year and he will return to restricted free agency next Summer, if an extension isn't worked out beforehand.
Boedker hits the fringe, because of his numbers last season, 14 goals and 28 points in 45 games, but he certainly can be a sleeper in a pool with people who just go down the list of last year's picks. His projections will be far better than last season's numbers, so take that into consideration. A spleen problem caused him to miss the 37 games last year, otherwise, he would have had a pretty good year.
