Ducks' Fowler Out With Shoulder Injury
The Anaheim Ducks received some troubling news, as they are going to be without defenseman Cam Fowler for anywhere between 2-to-6 weeks with a shoulder injury, which he suffered on Monday night against the Avalanche.
The timeline will end his regular season, which sees him finish with 8 goals and 32 points in 67 games, ranking him 43rd among all defensemen in pool scoring this season. The timetable also suggests that he could miss anywhere from the first few games of the opening round to the Conference Finals, give or take.
For Brian's pool team, the gains in the plus/minus department were what he was most concerned with, if he was going to get his money back this season. Fowler has a +3 rating and has been hovering on the plus side all year and he could have helped Brian's team pass Dale B.'s in the mini-game to win, but now he'll hope for the rest of his team to step up and get it done.
He would be a pretty huge gamble to take Fowler in the playoff pool, given that he isn't guaranteed to be healthy for the opening round or more. If the Ducks were to go a fair ways in the tournament, he might be able to put some points up, but would it really be enough?
