Noon Player Notes in the Draft (Apr 5)

The Chicago Blackhawks have been entertaining some younger bodies in their lineup of late, including some defensemen. On Wednesday night against the Blues, Blake Hillman drew into the lineup and Jordan Oesterle was a healthy scratch to accommodate the move.  Hillman scored his 1st NHL goal in the game, starting a Chicago comeback from 3-1 to eventually upset the Blues, 4-3 in regulation, adding more doubt to St. Louis' playoff hopes.

For Stuart, this didn't matter too much to him, as his team has seen its fair share of resting players these days and still hangs on to a healthy lead, both in the overall sense and the Mover & Shaker this week.

Ottawa Senators captain Erik Karlsson opted not to go on the team's final 3-game road trip to finish the season, which started last night in Buffalo, deciding to stay at home and be with his wife following their own family issues in recent weeks.  The Senators wouldn't confirm that he wouldn't join the team at all, but it does seem rather likely that the Senators will play out the rest of the season without him.  If so, Karlsson finishes the year with 9 goals and 62 points in 71 games, currently ranking 5th among defensemen, through Wednesday's action.

Brenda & Seward have had a pretty good week, so far, despite not having Karlsson in their lineup, moving into the 7th spot in the standings, their highest possible finish for this season.
