Vrbata Calls It Quits
I had made the rule a couple of years ago, that I would only post a retirement spot on the blog, if a player finished at least once on a money team in the hockey pool and there have been surprising omissions over the years, but Radim Vrbata is not going to be one of those omissions.
Vrbata, a member of Kristy & Don's 2nd place team back in the 2011 season, made Saturday night's game against the Buffalo Sabres his last, concluding a 16-season career in the NHL, playing for Colorado, Carolina, Chicago, Phoenix (and Arizona), Tampa Bay, Vancouver and finally Florida.
284 goals and 623 points in 1,057 games played, a very serviceable career and one where he found himself on many hockey pool teams, especially on this website.
