Future Considerations

In another non-pool related trade, but something to pass the time with a little, the Minnesota Wild have finally rid themselves of forward Eric Nystrom, after a couple of attempts on the waiver wire, including re-entry waivers.  The Wild have dealt the suspended forward to Dallas for future considerations and the Stars move a little more comfortably within the confines of the salary cap floor.

Nystrom is a gritty winger, who was involved on a devastating icing play in the preseason with Oilers prospect defenseman Taylor Fedun, which shattered his leg.  Once Nystrom is available to play this season, he should provide a lot of sandpaper to the Stars, but that is something that the Stars are already brimming with.

Nystrom isn't on the selection sheet, nor does he score enough to be considered for the draft in a waiver draft capacity, so this isn't a very big deal.
