Sheet Player News (Oct 16)

All the indications on Sunday morning, the Islanders wanted a little bit more grit in their line-up for their first rivalry game against the Rangers on Saturday night, as Trevor Gillies came off the Injured Reserve, they put him in for scoring forward Blake Comeau. Comeau, who has yet to pick up a point in three games for the Rangers, was a healthy scratch on Saturday night, which doesn't reflect well on the Box 21 forward. With the Islanders starting to pick up the pace and Comeau becoming a healthy scratch, this relationship could get sour in a hurry.

After the Rangers lost their game to the Islanders on Saturday evening, the team announced that they have assigned Box 25 forward, Mats Zuccarello, to Connecticut of the AHL. Zuccarello failed to register a point in the first three games of the season and he likely hasn't impressed in many other facets of the game, which made him the first casualty of an 0-3-0 start for team from the Big Apple. Zuccarello will likely be the first recall down the line, but who's to say when that actually happens.
