Player Notes in the Draft (Apr 2)

A couple of notes from Anaheim's game on Wednesday night against the Oilers, as they decided to rest forward Ryan Kesler through an upper-body injury, while Patrick Maroon wasn't able to complete the game, due to an illness.

Kesler was held out of the day's morning skate and then it was decided later that he would be a scratch from the game, preserving his health status for the playoffs, which start in a couple of weeks.  He will be on the list as out day-to-day with no official timeline for his return at the moment.

Maroon obviously tried to give the game a go, despite feeling under the weather.  It wasn't like he quit early, he did wait until the team was up 4-1 on the Oilers before calling it a night.  I would imagine that he will be fine for the team's next game, Friday night, home to Colorado.

Kesler belongs to Tony in the draft, while Maroon belongs to Wilton, both teams in the bottom half of the standings.  Both players, however, will be on the Playoff Pool sheet in various capacities.  They should be good for the playoffs, but it is good to keep an eye on these things.

An updated list of injuries can be found here.
