Van Riemsdyk Hurt Long-Term

The Philadelphia Flyers got some bad news on Monday morning, as it was announced that forward James Van Riemsdyk will miss the next 4-to-6 weeks with his lower-body injury, believed to be a significant knee injury.

This is certainly not how the Flyers or Van Riemsdyk wanted to start his second stint with the club, as he was still warming up to the jersey again, having only 1 assist in his first two games, since his return.  The timetable for his return is now set to about the middle of November, worst-case scenario, but that is a significant amount of the first segment of the season lost.

Eric's pool team is the one that will suffer from this injury, as he'll be without a key forward, his 7th round pick, the 160th overall, meaning there is some significant expectations put upon him.  Six weeks is nearly a quarter of the regular season, which is a ton of time to miss and his return will be just before the Week Nine Waiver Draft.

Eric's team opened up Week Two in 15th place, but has had an early point in Monday's action, already jumping up to 13th, but it's going to be a long stretch for his side moving forward.
