The Ducks will have a couple of players going under the knife soon. Petteri Nokelainen will be going in to surgically repair a broken hand, which he suffered in the series against the Red Wings. He should have plenty of time to recover. Erik Christensen will have shoulder surgery, a torn labrum repair, which has the potential to keep him out for the long-term.
Thrashers defenseman, Tobias Enstrom, had to undergo some reconstructive facial surgery after being checked from behind at the World Championships. The word is that Enstrom will be fine and good to go for next season. It will be interesting to see what kind of protection he will be wearing to start the year.
The Bruins have announced that Andrew Ference will be getting a lot of work done down in the lower portion of his body. Ference has a torn groin and a hernia to repair and he will go under the knife to correct that situation. Thankfully, training camp is still 3.5 months away, so there should be ample time to return from that. Phil Kessel will undergo shoulder surgery to repair a torn labrum, which could jeopardize his training camp a little bit. David Krejci may also have a slow start to next season, as he'll be finishing up his recovery from hip surgery this Spring. Updates should be provided closer to when the season starts.
The Flyers are having corrections done this summer, in hopes that they'll be a much healthier team, thus a much better team all around. Mike Richards underwent his second shoulder surgery already, which should hopefully put him back into training camp in time to get ready for the coming season. Daniel Briere will be undergoing some corrective eye surgery in the coming days, which has a recovery time of only a couple of weeks.
