Eller Sidelined for Up to Two Weeks

Kind of lost in a busy day on Wednesday was the fact that Montreal forward Lars Eller was announced as expected to be out of the Habs lineup for the next two weeks with his upper-body injury. Details are sketchy on this injury as well, but Eller hasn't been on the ice with his teammates for a few days and the team is not going to push him too quickly, seeing as though it is still relatively early in the NHL schedule.  Two weeks seems to be the worst case scenario here, as the time frame given is in the 1-to-2 week range.

In 28 games this season with Montreal, Eller has 7 goals and 4 assists and after Wednesday night's action, he currently ranks 245th overall in pool scoring.

ImplicationsEller has been decent for Stacey M. this season, but hasn't been terribly great.  Obviously at the Waiver Draft, Stacey thought there was still a bit of an upside to Eller that she hadn't seen yet, so she decided to keep him around, despite being one of the lower scoring forwards on her team.  Surely, this injury was unforeseen, but possibly it was a sign that says that he needed to be dropped.

An updated list of injuries can be found here.
