On Wednesday, June 3rd, soon-to-be free agent forward Eric Fehr underwent elbow surgery, repairing some damage from the long season. The early prognosis is good for the start of training camp, which is good for the 170th ranked forward from the 2015 season. Fehr finished the regular season with 19 goals and 33 points in 75 games with the Capitals, but there has been no indication as to whether or not he will hit the open market on July 1st or not.
The New York Rangers released some surgery news on Friday, June 5th, as defensemen Marc Staal and Dan Girardi each had some procedures done to their ankles. Staal was playing on a fractured ankle in the playoffs and his procedure was to get some bone chips removed, while Girardi underwent a bursa excision from his ankle. Both players are not in any doubt for being ready for training camp in September.
It was revealed on Saturday, June 6th, that Boston Bruins forwards Brad Marchand and Maxime Talbot underwent minor procedures in this off-season. Marchand had an undisclosed surgery, starting the off-season with that playoff feel, while Talbot, although he isn't really considered to be a hockey pool type player, will get listed because of his deviated septum surgery. Both are expected to be healthy and ready to go for training camp in September.
