The Winnipeg Jets announced that they re-signed potential restricted free agent Ben Chiarot to a new 2-year deal, reportedly worth $2.8 million. The 26-year old played in 59 games for the Jets last season, scoring 2 goals and 12 points, ranking him 148th among all defenders in scoring.
Chiarot is more of a role-playing defender, getting the fill-in minutes, but he does seem to get some points when he's getting those minutes, so he could be a very late round sleeper, if he can somehow crack the Winnipeg lineup full-time.
