There were 10 trades made by the Vegas Golden Knights, officially announced during the Expansion Draft reveal during the Awards show on Wednesday night, but only one of those trades involved a pool worthy player and that's what we've got here in the review.

This one was the second deal of the night, as the Florida Panthers were able to dump some salary to the Golden Knights, sending forward Reilly Smith to Sin City for a mid-round draft pick.  Smith's numbers, listed above, had him ranked 224th overall in pool scoring and 152nd among all forwards, starting to get to the bottom of the rankings for the forwards for the hockey pool, but he's still a viable pick, in theory.

The Panthers are rumoured to be undergoing a budget strip down and dumping Smith, who signed a long-term extension last summer, is a very good indication of that.  The Panthers are down to the bare bones on their current roster and they'll be relying upon a good turn in free agency or their limited youth talent pool to really step up and make the move.

And so it begins.  Next up is the focus on how the roster shaped up for the Golden Knights from Wednesday night's expansion draft announcement and a few of their other trades.  It sounds like we're supposed to expect a few more deals in the coming days, leading up to the entry draft, which starts on Friday night.
