The Columbus Blue Jackets made a trio of contract extension signings on Friday, including goaltender Joonas Korpisalo, forward Zac Dalpe and defenseman Dean Kukan. Korpisalo and Dalpe each signed 2-year deals, while Kukan's deal was only for a single season, helping to round out the roster, ahead of the expansion draft.
Korpisalo is the player of interest out of these three, as he was the backup goalie to Sergei Bobrovsky in the 2017 season and the team aims to have him in the position again for next season. Now, being behind Bobrovsky isn't exactly what makes a guy pool worthy, quite the opposite, actually, but he is the number two... just in case! That still makes him one to watch, especially with Bobrovsky's injury history.
The 23-year old Finn finished 57th among all goalies in pool scoring, picking up 16 points in 14 appearances.
