On Tuesday, the Canucks sent defenseman Kevin Bieksa (Box 4) to the Manitoba Moose on a conditioning stint. He sounds just about ready to re-join the line-up for the Canucks after suffering a deep laceration on his calf in November. There is some hope that he can be ready for the weekend, where the Canucks will host the Red Wings as the late game on Hockey Night in Canada.Bieksa has already missed 46 games this season with his leg cut and will also miss Thursday's tilt against the Predators in Nashville. In the 12 games he did play this season, Bieksa has only 4 points (1G, 3A). His presence will almost certainly give a boost, much like a new player brought in before the trade deadline.
