A curious move today by the Leafs. GM Cliff Fletcher announced the signing of young forward, Alex Steen (non-pool), to a 2-year deal worth $3.4 million. Steen, 24 on March 1st, has 26 points in 56 games this season, but managed to get a deal which is roughly in the market share for his production.The most curious part of this deal, from the Sherpa's point of view, it does seem to be a tad early to have a signing done for the future. Possibly a job for the future permanent general manager, don't you think?
