Gretzky's Rascals

Wow. Could these Coyotes BE any younger? The average age of the starting forwards is only 24.6 years old. Surprisingly, the Coyotes as a whole are only the second youngest team in the league, second to Chicago that is. Peter Mueller, Martin Hanzal, Enver Lisin, Kyle Turris, Mikael Boedker, Kevin Porter and Viktor Tikhonov are all forwards under 23 and will all play a big part in Phoenix's success this year. Independently, they probably wouldn't be able to take on the world, but together, they could be a very dangerous unit.

The Desert Dogs will start the year with Joel Perrault on the IR, but the salary cap worries are few and far between. Well, until all of these players start becoming free agents that is. Phoenix will count $43.3 million against the cap this season.

Phoenix opens their season on Saturday at home to Columbus.
