Brodeur Leaves Game

It's pretty rare to have a Sunday post during the season, since I usually have been working on the weekly newsletter around this time, but it's pretty important to write in some of the bigger injury news separately. In the Devils' game against Atlanta on Saturday night, franchise goalkeeper, Martin Brodeur, left the game with what was called a bruised elbow. As Hockey Night in Canada had troubles picking out, the replays in the game were not very distinctive in finding the injury, although you could have argued that he was hacked in one of them.

Brodeur still managed to register the win, as he was on the ice for the first 26 minutes of the game and the Devils were already up by three in a 6-1 rout of the Thrashers. The question now stands as, 'how long will Brodeur be out of the Devils' line-up?' There hasn't been any early indication as to the length of time quite yet, but there are several poolies, including Peter in the Draft, who are eagerly anticipating this piece of news.

If there is any major news in the next 24 hours, it will be listed in the Week Five Newsletter, you can be sure.
