Capitals Lose Johnson

Despite the scoring surge in Washington over the past few games, the goaltending situation has taken somewhat of a backseat on the National stage. For the last few games, the Capitals have been starting Brent Johnson, the Capitals supposed back-up (and Box 32 goalie on the Sheet), instead of Jose Theodore, their high-priced starter.

Well, the situation may have gotten a little clearer, as Johnson was not able to complete the game against Carolina after hurting himself with what looked to be a lower body injury. Johnson hurt himself with only seconds to go in the first period, so Theodore had to make an appearance for the last 40 minutes of the game. Thankfully for Johnson, the Capitals had already ran out in front of the Hurricanes enough for Johnson to get the win.

The word from the locker room after the game was that Johnson had injured his hip, but there was no immediate timetable for a return.
