Injuries For Detroit

The Red Wings continued their Western road trip in Edmonton on Thursday night, getting past them in a 4-3 victory, which they did despite a couple of new injuries. Already without Dan Cleary to an eye injury, the Wings were without Tomas Holmstrom and Niklas Kronwall for the win. Holmstrom sat out of the contest with a sore back and Kronwall was out with an ankle injury, both listed as out day-to-day. There was no immediate word as to how long both players would be out. Detroit's next game is Saturday night in Calgary.

Holmstrom, a Draft pick of Don's and a Box 4 favourite, has shown flashes of his usual self, scoring 7 goals and adding 5 assists in 18 games for Detroit. Kronwall, a Draft pick of Dennis', also has done well this season, scoring 2 goals and adding 10 assists in 17 games for the Wings. Both players are key to the team's power play and will likely be severely missed in a game against the high-powered Flames.
