Sakic Sits Out

Colorado was the only home team on Thursday night to lose their game and you can look to the injury report to see a pair of good reasons why. Joe Sakic wasn't available for the Avalanche, as he sat out of the game with a strained lower back. Sakic will be a game-time decision for Saturday's game against the Predators.

Sakic has registered 12 points in 12 games for the Avalanche, which is music to the ears of Wes, who drafted him in the sixth round in October. Sakic is also a Box 1 player, but had lost some popularity thanks to some bright superstars in the box as well.

Also sitting out of the game against Minnesota on Thursday night was Scott Hannan, a Box 12 defenseman this season. Hannan sat out with flu-like symptoms and will also be re-evaluated before teh Saturday game against the Predators.
