Recent Contract Extensions (Apr 6)

The regular season is almost complete and it's almost time for teams to really hit the books, in terms of signings and extensions and we have seen some pool players sign some contract extensions, before the season has ended. The Coyotes officially announced on Friday, that they had re-signed goaltender Antti Raanta to a new 3-year, $12.75 million extension, keeping him with the club for the foreseeable future.

Despite being the number one goalie for the lowly Coyotes, Raanta still ranks 25th, heading into tonight's action, among all goalies in hockey pool points, with 21 wins and 48 points in 46 appearances.  They're not great numbers, but the Coyotes were turning things around near the end of the year (or maybe teams were taking it easy on them) and Raanta's numbers did improve.  I wouldn't move too quickly to pick him up next year, but he would be a decent number two guy, if you were in the market for forwards and defense early in next year's draft.
