Goalie Announcements (Mar 18)

It was a full weekend away from the computer, so if you missed all of these goalie posts over the weekend, I've got some bad news... it's getting really, really nice outside and there might be more time spent out there now.  I'm just giving you fair warning.  Granted, I'm thinking that if time permits, these posts will continue down the stretch, even though most races are already taken care of for this season.

Four games highlight Monday's action and everyone is back down to zero points on the week, so let's see who could get out to a head start or at the very least, stay clear of the basement for this week.

Darcy Kuemper (Neil) versus Andrei Vasilevksiy (Dale C.)
Two red-hot goalies will go head-to-head in Tampa Bay, where the Coyotes will take on the Lightning and Darcy Kuemper gets the tough task of keeping the Bolts from lightning up the scoreboard at the rate they have been clicking at.  Andrei Vasilevskiy will have a tough task of his own, as the Coyotes have been playing some good hockey of late and will certainly pose a challenge.

Thatcher Demko (Clayton) versus Corey Crawford (N/A)
The Canucks are working the second half of back-to-backs, after a shootout win in Dallas last night and they'll likely be going to their number two goalie in Thatcher Demko, getting his 4th start of the year.  The Blackhawks will go with their number one for this former rivalry match-up, which doesn't quite have the same build up as it once did, but Corey Crawford will still remember those days and probably take something from it for tonight's game.  Neither team are playoffs bound, but there will be plenty of pride on the line.

Laurent Brossoit (Benson) versus Jack Campbell (N/A)
The Jets are all but set for a playoff run in this coming spring and they'll continue to play out their schedule tonight in Los Angeles, as the Kings are just playing out the rest of their schedule as one of four teams already eliminated from playoff contention.  The Jets will give a spin to their backup tonight, as Laurent Brossoit has been tapped by the visitors already, while it is projected that the Kings will give a start to Jack Campbell, as he auditions for a job next season.

Malcolm Subban (N/A) versus Martin Jones (Brenda & Seward)
Still haven't seen any word on whether or not the Golden Knights will have their number one back from injury tonight, so we're assuming that the number two will go in his place tonight, when they take on Martin Jones and the Sharks.  The Sharks coaching staff said that they will be riding Jones until they have nothing left to play for, like a division title or home ice in the opening round.  They open play only 1 point behind the Flames in the standings, so they have lots to play for still.
