Noon Player Notes (Mar 6)

The Philadelphia Flyers are taking on the Washington Capitals tonight and they are hoping for the best, when it comes to the status of sophomore forward Nolan Patrick, who is officially a game-time decision, due to a head injury.  Patrick was hit in the back of his head with a shot on Sunday and has been taking it easy since, but after the morning skate today, he indicated that he was fine, according to some reports.  It's probably nothing, but if he does end up missing this game, he'll be listed as day-to-day.

In Vancouver, the Canucks are taking on the Maple Leafs tonight and they will be doing so without another one of their key defensemen, Ben Hutton, as he blocked a shot in the team's last game against the Golden Knights and suffered a foot injury. He has been ruled out for tonight's game and is day-to-day.  Fortunately, there was no word that the injury isn't more serious and a longer timetable involved.

For Scott's team, the focus is trying to get out of last place, but that's been a difficult push.  His team is currently equal with Derek B. in weekly scoring at 6 points, not making up any of the 16-point gap between the two sides and now he's definitely going to be without Hutton and there's a small chance he'll be without Patrick as well.  This does not bode well for that race, but at least he has points in the bank to stay away from the basement.
