Boynton Suspended for Gesture

It's quite apparent that Blackhawks defenseman Nick Boynton did not get the memo about making threatening gestures to his opponents this past week.  After delivering a questionable hipcheck in the neutral zone to Tampa's Chris Durno on Wednesday night, Boynton ended up fighting Blair Jones, who was standing up for his teammate and did well by him, by getting the decision in the fight.  That didn't sit well with Boynton, who gave the throat slashing gesture on the way to the penalty box to serve his fighting major.

After a conference call with the league, the only punishment that Boynton will receive for his action, which he has been punished for in the past, is only a 1-game suspension. This suspension will start in the regular season, meaning that Boynton will miss the Blackhawks' opening game on opening night in Colorado.
