Morning Player Notes in the Draft (Mar 5)

After blocking a shot down low on Thursday against the Predators, Canadiens forward Alexander Radulov was held out of Saturday contest against the Rangers, due to a lower-body injury.  The enigmatic Russian is considered to be day-to-day right now, but it did afford the Canadiens to help insert some of their newly-acquired blood into their lineup for the game against their rivals on Broadway and it helped, as they came away with a 4-1 win.

Of course, that isn't quite the game that Scott would like to see Radulov miss, since his team is trying to find its way back to the money conversation.  With a 28-point week, through Saturday's action, it's slowly getting there, but he is still 11 points back of the team ahead of him, now belonging to Stacey C..

It might be very much of the same for Nashville's Ryan Ellis, as he may have been caught blocking a shot awkwardly and finding an injury in the process against Montreal on Thursday.  He was held out of Nashville's game against the Blackhawks on Saturday night and that lack of defense could have been a reason why the Predators dropped that game, 5-3.  Ellis is also day-to-day right now, no updates have been provided on his status for their next game, Tuesday night in Anaheim.

With all this bad luck that Tony has had this season, this week, he's finally got some hope of moving out of 24th place in the standings, as his team has closed the gap on Wilton's to 4 points.  A big Sunday could prove very interesting for the remaining five weeks.
