Fringe Signings (Jul 12)

One last signing on the day for Thursday... the Pittsburgh Penguins re-signed defenseman Jamie Oleksiak to a 3-year, $6.4 million deal, bringing the hulking defenseman back into the fold after acquiring him from the Dallas Stars mid-season.

Oleksiak wasn't too far off being pool worthy in the 2018 season, playing in 68 games between Dallas and Pittsburgh, scoring 5 goals and 17 points in that time.  Most of those numbers did come in Pittsburgh, 14 points in 47 games, so there's a fine chance that playing with the Penguins would be enough to see him up into the pool worthy ranks for next year.  Something to think about.
