The New York Rangers tweeted their opening night roster and as much as it did include forwards Ryan Callahan and Carl Hagelin, both players are on the upswing from off-season shoulder surgeries and are not far away from re-joining the team. It does sound like both players will not be ready for opening night and both may be placed on the Injured Reserve, retroactive to the start of camp, so they will be eligible to come off as soon as they're ready to go.
From what I've read this morning, Callahan has been cleared for contact, while a week ago, Hagelin still had yet to have himself cleared, so Callahan appears to be closer, but both are practicing and should be close.
Callahan currently belongs to Cindy and Hagelin was Kristy & Don's pick-up for the injured Viktor Stalberg. Cindy has a healthy team, beyond Callahan, so she should be good to go when the season starts and then will get Callahan back before too long. The duo was hoping to get an injury upgrade on their preseason waiver pick, to which they did, one will be out significantly longer than the other, but by how much now becomes the question.
