More Player Notes in the Draft (Apr 3)
Looking at tonight's starting goalies on goaliepost.com, it appears that the pool is not going to get a lot of help tonight from the crease. Five NHL games, 10 NHL goalies, four goalies are active in the pool. How shitty is that?
There is one big match-up tonight, as the St. Louis Blues and the Dallas Stars go head-to-head and it plays right into the 3rd place race in the standings. Clayton and Benson, who are both 14 points back of 3rd place, will have one of their starters going in this one, as Brian Elliott will face Kari Lehtonen for a chance to move closer to Wes and the money. Neither Wes or Scott has goalies going tonight, so this game proves to be the big one on the schedule.
Allan, who is fighting to stay out of the Olli position this season, he'll have Antti Niemi going for the Sharks against the Coyotes, as they opt for their current back-up, Louis Domingue, in their net. Both Wyllie and Ryan are also without goalies tonight.
The only other active pool goalie going tonight is Dustin Tokarski for the Habs, as he'll take on Keith Kinkaid in New Jersey. Tokarski belongs to Dale C. this year, who has dropped down to 9th this week and could use a quick boost to move back up the standings a touch.
