Player Notes in the Draft (Apr 9)
An upper-body injury cost Maple Leafs forward Leo Komarov the 3rd period against the Blue Jackets and there is some thought that it may cost him the last game of the season, at home to Montreal on Saturday night as well. Potentially, this will end his season at 8 goals and 26 points in 62 games, which was only good for 317th overall in pool scoring, going into Thursday night's action.
Komarov's injury adds to a list of recent injury problems for Grant K., who hasn't seen much luck in his first season in this hockey pool. Looks like it is fairly certain that his team will finish 20th out of 23 teams.
As expected, Montreal forward Max Pacioretty has been ruled out for the final two regular season games of the season, tonight against Detroit and Saturday against Toronto, due to the upper-body injury he suffered earlier in the week. Pacioretty took a rough tumble into the boards on Sunday against the Predators, but of course, the team will not release the nature of the injury to their leading goal-scorer and there is some considerable fear that he suffered a concussion.
Stacey M. has seen a good surge in the weekly scoring race, picking up a week-high of 11 points thus far, but in terms of being in the race for 3rd place, her team was well-behind the 8-ball, now sitting only 18 points behind, but with the goal-scoring tie-breaker.
