Off-Season Injury Notes (Aug 4)

The Arizona Coyotes were dealt some bad news on Thursday, as defenseman Jacob Chychrun had to undergo surgery to repair a knee injury, which he suffered in training this week.  The injury and the surgery appear to be quite significant, as the team is only saying that the 19-year old will be out indefinitely and more will be released when training camp opens in mid-September.

The 16th overall pick in the 2016 entry draft made the leap to the NHL right away and didn't look out of place, especially in the statistical columns.  Chychrun was a pool worthy defender, finishing 79th in defense scoring with 7 goals and 20 points in 68 games and his stock was certainly on the rise.

If you had him on your radar for the hockey pool, you'll want to pay close attention to the training camp news, when that gets released.
