Top Prospect Signings (Aug 11)
On Thursday afternoon, the Edmonton Oilers announced that they had signed their top pick from the 2017 entry draft, forward Kailer Yamamoto.
The 22nd overall selection was turning some heads through the Oilers' prospect camp, all the way through to the World Juniors Summer Series, where he played for Team USA and he may have found his way into the main camp in December with his performance this summer. The Spokane Chiefs prospect will more than likely take that extra year in the junior ranks, given his size, listed as 5'8" and 153 lbs., he could spend that time trying to fill out a little bit more.
With the Chiefs in the WHL last season, Yamamoto finished with 99 points in 65 games.
