Sheet Player News (Feb 8)

The Calgary Flames have lifted themselves into a theoretical playoff spot on Monday night with a win over the Blackhawks, but it has seemingly come at a price. Box 14 defenseman Adam Pardy left the game with an apparent upper-body injury and didn't return. There was no further prognosis on Pardy after the game, but with the Flames playing again on Wednesday night against the visiting Senators, we should hear more about Pardy's condition then.

The Vancouver Canucks kept rolling along on Monday night, with a victory over the Senators at home, but their win also came at a price, as Box 12 defenseman Keith Ballard left the game with an ugly lower-body, after falling awkwardly behind the net in a collision with Milan Michalek.  Ballard is scheduled to have an MRI and likely some other tests to determine the extent of the injury, but seeing how bad the way his knee bent, there isn't a great deal of hope that it'll be a short-term thing.
