The Minnesota Wild lost the services of forward Mark Parrish (Box 5) on Wednesday night to a head injury in their first game against the Colorado Avalanche. Parrish, who had been a healthy scratch for a number of games before the end of the regular season, fell awkwardly into the boards during a backcheck and left the game for precautionary reasons.
Parrish is not expected to play tonight verus the Avalanche, rather sit and wait to see if the injury is more severe and if there are any concussion symptoms that remain. If so, that could be the end of the first round for Parrish.
Parrish has been taken four times in the pool, so he will be somewhat missed in the first round. The Wild are already without Nick Schultz (Box 10), but anyone who had him taken before the deadline on Wednesday afternoon, has since dropped him.
