It looks likely that the Maple Leafs are going to shut down Mats Sundin (John P.) for the rest of the season, which is only two more games. Sundin's groin injury flared up again this week and he didn't go against the Sabres last night and the team looks to have him rest for the final games of the season.
Sundin finished the year with 78 points (32G, 46A) in 74 games this season, amidst injuries and trade rumours all year. Leafs interim GM Cliff Fletcher said he would like to sign Sundin in the off-season, but that would likely be a decision made by the new full-time GM, whoever that may be.
