The Senators whomped the Leafs, 8-2, last night to help solidify their playoff position (which they still need one point to clinch), but they lost a couple players to injury in that same game. Both Daniel Alfredsson (Clayton) and Mike Fisher (John P.) left the game against Toronto with a head and knee injury, respectively, that doesn't look promising at all for the Sens.
Alfredsson was popped by the Leafs' Mark Bell (non-pool) and may have suffered a concussion, which would mean his regular season is over, which is only one more game. Alfredsson did manage a couple assists in the contest, which helped Clayton's bid for the lead, but missing the last game of the season won't help at all.
In Fisher's case, he collided with Alex Steen (non-pool) and injured his knee, in what seems to be a lesser injury. There wasn't much mention about Fisher, but it does seem likely that Fisher may be rested to make sure he's good for the playoffs, since it does seem unlikely that the Sens will drop from the playoff picture now.
