Despite promises of some top six ice-time this season from General Manager Bryan Murray, Ottawa Senators forward Nikita Filatov has struggled to fulfil his end of the bargain, playing well. The Senators were in need of that influx of top end offensive talent, when you looked at them on paper and the former 6th overall pick in 2008 has failed to live up to the hype, production-wise, from his days in junior. After another short stint with the big club, Filatov has been sent back down to the AHL, but what does it mean for the young Russian? Will he find the type of game that will keep him in a regular NHL system, one that is defensively responsible, or will he be a lost cause and be on his way back to Russia?
