Goalie Announcements (Nov 3)

Stuart starts the week as the only team through to Week Six after a Monday night win from Corey Crawford, as the other two survivor pool goalies each took losses on the night.

It is going to be a busy Tuesday night, with nine games on the docket, meaning 18 starting goalies and there should be a good number of teams making it through tonight.

So, we'll start with the teams that are still in the pool.  Seven goalies will go, in order to keep their teams alive and we begin with the Red Wings and Lightning, where two of them go head-to-head in Detroit.  Jimmy Howard (Stacey M.) will play host to Ben Bishop (Allan), both having good starts to the season for their respective teams.  It's still early in the week, so it's not exactly make or break yet for these teams.

Scott gets a couple kicks at the can on Tuesday night, as the red-hot Jake Allen goes back into the St. Louis net, as they take on Jhonas Enroth (Brian) and the Los Angeles Kings at home tonight.  The reigning Player of the Week doesn't get the Kings' starter in favourable match-up.  His other kick involves Martin Jones, who will play in the throwback Sharks jersey for the first time this season, expected to take on Sergei Bobrovsky (Troy) and the Columbus Blue Jackets.  New jerseys are always good luck, right?

Dale B. gets his first shot at moving on, as Jaroslav Halak is expected to go for the Islanders, taking on Cory Schneider (Troy) and the New Jersey Devils.  Halak has been solid to start the year, but he still may not have a full roster in front of him, so it could be a bit tougher against the Devils.

Good match-up in New York tonight, as the Rangers and Henrik Lundqvist (Derek & Dan) will try to spoil Jeremy's bid for another win, facing Braden Holtby and the Washington Capitals.  If there was anyone going to spoil a bid to win by Holtby, it would be King Henrik.

John P. may have caught a break, as his goalie for Ottawa, Craig Anderson, visits the Carey Price-less Canadiens... or has he?  The Canadiens are starting Mike Condon (non-pool) again tonight and he has been exceptionally steady in Price's absence, making this a very intriguing game going in.

Of the eliminated teams, still working towards actually winning the pool... both Dale C. and Troy will have both of their goalies going as well.  Dale has his goalies going head-to-head in the Dallas/Boston game, as Kari Lehtonen and Tuukka Rask will face-off against each other.  Troy, if you hadn't noticed earlier in the post, has both Bobrovsky and Schneider going.
