Horcoff Out Ten Days

More bad news down the pipe today, as the Oilers will not have Shawn Horcoff in their line-up for the next week to 10 days with a shoulder ailment. The good news about the injury is that it isn't terribly serious and it won't require any surgery, so he should be able to work is way back into the line-up in no time, missing upwards of about five or six games.

In 15 games this season, Horcoff has only scored two goals and three assists. That's a pretty slow start for a player that's supposed to be on a team's top line.

ImplicationsAll 17 teams in the Draft seemingly foretold themselves about Horcoff and his potentially slow start, as he wasn't taken at all this year. Usually there is one Oilers fan in the bunch that will give him a shot, but it seems like everyone, including the Oilers fans, were wise to his play.

On the Sheet, it could have been more that Horcoff was in a box with far more qualified players to help win a hockey pool, being in the second best forwards box in the Western Conference. He was not chosen there either.
