The number one name on the restricted free agent list for the Tampa Bay Lightning was locked up on Thursday morning, as the team announced that they re-signed Alex Killorn to a new 2-year deal, reportedly worth $5.1 million.
Killorn, 24, was a 2007 3rd round pick, 107th overall and he finally broke out for the Bolts, scoring 17 goals and 41 points for the team in 2014, ranking 171st overall and 123rd among forwards. Last season was the winger's second season in the league, as in 2013, he played in 38 games and was good enough for 19 points, so his production is set to get a boost in the 2015 season, likely making him a good candidate for somewhat of a sleeper pick.
This signing brings the projected roster up to 13 players, worth about $46.3 million, leaving $24.8 million to spend on the remaining 10 roster spots. The Lightning remain in good shape heading into the silly season and will do well to be a player in the free agent frenzy.
